The Spiritual Teachings of Beavis and Butthead Part 1: A Primer

In 1992 Mike Judge released a short film called, “Frog Baseball”. This film introduced us to two of the most classic buffoons the world as ever known. While the masses saw this as an exercise into extreme stupidity, the truly gifted religious teachers saw the truth. Beavis and Butthead was a spiritual teaching. They represented two truly enlightened beings who played the roles needed to teach us the true path. The path of television, boobs and enlightenment.
To this day most common folk do not understand the true spiritual wisdom that was handed over by the brilliant mind of Mike Judge. I have been teaching classes in the “Way of the Butt” for several years and am finally ready to release my teachings to the public.
Beavis and Butthead may seem stupid, ridiculous and insensitive but they are the absolute expression of their souls. Who of you, in this life, is able to express their every most desire, their truest thoughts, their deepest feelings without a hint of remorse or shame? They are free of the trappings of a guilt ridden life. Their actions teach us to be true to ourselves, to be honest with the world and to chase our dreams.
Many in our materialistic world believe that science, thought and schooling are the higher path. While those things are fun and exciting they are definitions or boxes to describe the universe. Every definition is a limitation. It’s a way of making one thing different than another and slowly othering the entire world. Beavis and Butthead represent stupidity at its highest level and in that stupidity they show that our wants, our needs, our likes and dislikes, they are all the same. We are all the same. We are all one. Our biggest fear is true: We are all as stupid as Beavis and Butthead and we are working hard to convince ourselves otherwise.
These brothers are truly enlightened but like all great teachers, not in the way you expect. They turn the idea of enlightenment upside down in order to force you to question and reexamine how you see the world. To see the world through fresh eyes and not judge things as spiritual or un-spiritual. Everything in this universe is spiritual, everything is beautiful, even two boys killing frogs for sport. Beauty is in the eye of the dead frog.
